The month of October is recognized as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
On October 4, 2008, SEWAA will be hosting a domestic violence awareness event in Franklin Delano Roosevelt (FDR) Park, which is located in South Philadelphia.
In conjunction with this event there will be a 5k (approximately 3 miles) walk.
Registration to walk in this event will be $25.00 per person. Ask your family members, friends and co-workers to sponsor your walk and become eligible to win a prize which will be awarded to the top walker who raises the most money. Registration will begin at 9:00am. The event will begin at 9 AM and will include food, drink and gifts for participants. To receive your free T-shirt register prior to Sept. 30th. All proceeds will go towards building a women’s shelter specific for the South Asian community of Greater Philadelphia.
